A three-session learning programme designed for people working with complexity in HR, OD, learning and development, leadership and change.

You’ll work with a real situation from your own context, using systems thinking to uncover what’s really going on beneath the surface - and identify meaningful shifts that create movement where things feel stuck.

This is a space to learn new ways of working while focusing on something real, alongside other people doing similar work.

Learning, reflection and progress - all happening at the same time.

If you work in HR, OD, learning and development, leadership or change, you’ll likely recognise this.

You’re working with complex situations where impact isn’t always easy to create. Well-intended interventions don’t always land, and progress can feel slower or harder to sustain than you’d like.

This programme is designed for exactly that kind of work.

Rather than learning systems thinking in the abstract, you’ll bring a real piece of work from your own context - something you’re trying to shift, improve or influence - and use the programme to explore it more deeply. You’ll see what’s really going on, sense what’s influencing it, and identify where movement might be possible.

That means leaving not only with new tools and insights, but with clearer direction and tangible progress on something that really matters to your work.

Much of people and organisational work sits firmly in complex territory: culture, trust, behaviour, leadership, strategy and ways of working.

These are challenges where:

  • there’s no single right answer

  • cause and effect aren’t obvious

  • well-intended fixes often create new problems

In complex systems, impact rarely comes from from adding more on top - more plans, more initiatives, more activity. It comes from understanding how the system itself is holding together.

Think of it like a game of Jenga. The answer isn’t always to add another block to the top of the tower. Often what matters most is what’s happening within the structure - which blocks are doing the work, where tensions sit, and what’s missing or misaligned.

Systems thinking helps you see the bigger picture - the patterns, relationships and dynamics shaping - so the action you take next is more likely to land and have sustainable impact.

This programme supports you to learn systems thinking by applying it directly to your own work, rather than separating learning from practice.

You’re learning it as you use it in real time.

Why Systems Thinking?

How the programme works

The programme introduces systems thinking through a simple but powerful rhythm:

Seeing - Sensing - Shifting - Learning

You’ll use this rhythm to work with a real situation from your own context across the programme - building understanding, testing ideas, and making progress as you go.

Across the three workshops, you’ll:

  • learn how to see situations as systems, rather than isolated issues

  • surface patterns, dynamics and assumptions shaping what’s happening

  • identify small, meaningful shifts worth testing in real work

  • reflect on what you’re learning as the system responds

The focus is on developing clarity, judgement and confidence in how you work with complexity so you can create movement that lasts and take action with intention.

The learning journey

Workshop 1 — Seeing & Sensing the System

We begin by creating space to see what’s really going on.

You’ll learn how to:

  • expand your view beyond symptoms and surface-level issues

  • notice patterns, structures and assumptions shaping behaviour

  • surface relationships, tensions and dynamics that often go unseen

  • work with real situations rather than abstract case studies

This session is about noticing more - and noticing differently - so you can orient yourself with confidence.

Date: 26th February 2026
Time: 09:30 - 12:30

Much of how we explore and make sense of systems happens through dialogue, so this programme is designed as a shared learning experience.

Sessions are interactive and purposeful, with time built in to work directly on your situation, reflect on what you’re noticing, and learn from others working in similar territory.

Each workshop builds on the last, with space between sessions to notice what’s shifting, test ideas in your work, and bring fresh insight back into the group.

Many people describe a lasting shift in how they see their work - and how they choose where to focus their effort.

Workshop 2 —
Shifting & Learning

Here we move from insight into action.

You’ll explore:

  • how change unfolds in complex systems

  • where leverage might sit - and why small shifts can make a meaningful difference

  • how to design safe-to-try experiments in real work

  • how to learn from what the system does in response

You’ll leave with a practical rhythm you can apply to anything from day-to-day challenges to bigger organisational agendas.

Date: 11th March 2026
Time: 09:30 - 12:30

Workshop 3 — Collective Sensemaking

The final session brings everything together.

This is a facilitated sensemaking space where we:

  • reflect on what you’ve tried and what you’re noticing

  • learn from each others’ experiences

  • notice patterns that cut across different contexts

  • deepen understanding through dialogue

This session supports integration - helping insight settle and inform how you approach future work.

Date: 26th March 2026
Time: 09:30 - 11:30

This is for you if…

You want to increase the impact and effectiveness of your work

You want clearer judgement about where to focus time and energy

You’re dealing with complex, human challenges that don’t respond to simple fixes

You want to learn new ways of working while making progress on a real situation

You’re tired of firefighting and want to get to what’s really driving issues

You want practical approaches that fit the reality of complexity

Feedback from previous programmes and workshops

“This was one of the best programmes I’ve attended. Hannah’s facilitation was thoughtful and inclusive, and the sessions flowed beautifully. For the first time, systems thinking felt practical and something I could genuinely put into action.”

- HR Lead

“The programme helped me see and accept the validity of whole-system complexity - and understand why it’s not only inevitable, but purposeful and productive to work with.

I also came to appreciate the importance of both breadth and depth of thinking in understanding a problem properly, rather than trying to simplify too quickly. That shift helped me make better sense of the challenges I’m working with.”

- OD Lead

“Hannah made complexity make sense. I gained the confidence to apply systems thinking in the real world - and I’m doing it now. Her care, patience and commitment to each person’s experience really stood out”

£245 early-booking price (book before 2nd February)

£295 standard price

This is an investment in how you think and work - not just what you do next.

For people working with complexity, that shift often pays for itself many times over: in time saved, clearer judgement about where to focus effort, and a greater sense of confidence when navigating difficult situations.

Rather than adding more tools or tasks to your list, this programme supports you to work more intentionally with what’s already there - helping you avoid unnecessary activity and focus on what will make the biggest difference.

If cost would prevent you from joining, please get in touch. I hold a small number of reduced-fee places for each cohort, so the programme remains accessible to those who need it.
